As part of our commitment to provide prompt and exceptional laboratory services, we ask that you properly collect, label, and package all products intended for cannabis compliance testing in California. Failure to prepare products in their final form may result in your sample being rejected during collection or excluded from testing at the laboratory.
Protocol for Collecting Samples
The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC), is very attentive to product labeling, and monitors compliance tests across the industry and the state of California. The DCC is contacting licensees directly to enforce sample collection regulations. The DCC states the following:
§15705. General Sampling Requirements, (b):
The licensed laboratory may obtain and analyze samples only from cannabis products batches in final form as required by Business and Professions Code section 26100.§15726. Certificate of Analysis (COA), (e)(5):
Batch number of the batch from which the sample was obtained. For cannabis and cannabis products that are already packaged at the time of sampling, the labeled batch number on the packaged cannabis and cannabis products shall match the batch number on the COA;
Sample Collection
In order to meet government regulatory requirements and associated standards, samples must not violate the laboratory acceptance criteria.
Final Form Packaging
Sampling of cannabis products must be in their final form with key labeling information. Refer to the DCC website for more details.
