SC Labs is one of the first labs in Colorado approved to test the complete updated Residual Solvent Analysis (RSA) panel required under the state’s compliance testing rules.
While the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) adopted the updated RSA analyte requirements under 1 CCR 212-3, Table 4-215(J)(6)(a)1 effective July 1, 2026, enforcement was delayed until a certified lab became available to perform the testing.
The MED has now confirmed that licensees must comply with the expanded panel beginning September 28, 2026, bringing the total number of required RSA analytes to 31 (18 new additions to the existing panel). Enforcement for one of these substances, Triethylamine, will follow separately, with the MED providing a minimum of 72 hours’ notice ahead of that requirement.
Important: Any result above the limit of detection (LOD) will result in a failed test for the 18 new analytes, as none of these solvents are approved for use in cultivation or processing.
What this means for you
If you currently test with SC Labs, no action is needed. We’ve got you covered under the updated panel.
If you test with another lab, we’d recommend confirming with them that they’re testing for the complete updated analyte list above. Products tested under the previous panel are at risk of non-compliant results and potential recalls once enforcement is active. It’s worth a quick check with your current lab to confirm their panel has been updated accordingly.
