What can we test?
SC Labs can test hemp flowers, concentrates, leaves, e-liquids/vape oils, crystallized isolates, as well as liquid and solid infused products such as coconut oils, tinctures, and edibles. Don’t forget about your inputs! We test beeswax, rolling papers, chocolate, food additives, terpenes, environmental inputs like soil, and more.

We have been servicing hemp cultivators with pre-harvest compliance testing in Oregon since 2018. This experience, coupled with a decade of cannabis testing in California, allows us to provide a complete program for industrial hemp analysis.

Pre-Harvest Hemp Testing
While THC concentrations of industrial hemp may have been analyzed at pre-harvest, additional safety and potency testing may be warranted for consumer-ready items. For some states, additional contaminant and safety tests are now required prior to processing and prior to reaching retail shelves.
We offer one of the nation’s most complete test packages for hemp/CBD quality assurance. Bundled panel options were developed to target a comprehensive list of contaminants, address state compliance rules, and meet guidelines established by the USP, AHPA, AHP, AOAC, BCC6, or ORELAP.

Among our two laboratories, SC Labs utilizes gas chromatography – flame ionization detection (GC-FID) to analyze a total of 40 terpenoids. Terpenoids are the aromatic compounds that endow cannabis and hemp with their unique scent and effect. Learn more.

Analysis is conducted either by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and fluorescence detection of microbiological contaminants or by plating using 3M™ Petrifilm™ and plate counts of microbiological contaminants. Learn more.
