Cannabis Testing Menu – California
At SC Labs, we help streamline the testing process, bridging the gap between quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and regulatory compliance. Driven by customer-centric innovation, our suite of solutions provides critical tools to cultivate, manufacture, and distribute cannabis products. SC Laboratories’ assays and quality systems are accredited to ISO 17025:2017 in California and by ORELAP1 in Oregon.
What can we test?
SC Labs can test cannabis flowers, concentrates, leaves, e-liquids/vape oils, crystallized isolates, as well as liquid and solid infused products such as coconut oils, tinctures, and edibles. Don’t forget about your inputs! We test beeswax, rolling papers, chocolate, food additives, terpenes, environmental inputs like soil, and more.
If you need a product tested that doesn’t fall within this list, contact us. It’s likely that we can test that too! Looking for hemp testing? Check out our Hemp/CBD Testing Menu instead.

Terpenoid Analysis
Among our two laboratories, SC Labs utilizes gas chromatography – flame ionization detection (GC-FID) to analyze a total of 40 terpenoids. Terpenoids are the aromatic compounds that endow cannabis and hemp with their unique scent and effect. Learn more.
Terpenoids Test Panel
Reports 39 analytes in California.
Pesticide Analysis
SC Labs’ pesticide and plant growth regulator analysis utilizes high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) or gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Learn more.
Standard Pesticides Test Panel – California
Reports 66 analytes per California cannabis regulations.
Comprehensive Pesticides Test Panel – National Hemp
Reports 105 analytes. Meets national hemp testing standards (participating states).6
Basic Pesticides Test Panel
Reports the 18 analytes most commonly detected in cannabis and hemp.
Residual Solvent / Processing Chemicals Analysis
SC Labs’ residual solvent analysis utilizes gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Learn more.
Standard Residual Solvents Test Panel – California
Reports the 20 analytes per California cannabis regulations.
Comprehensive Residual Solvents Test Panel – National Hemp
Reports 64 analytes. Meets national hemp testing standards (participating states).6
Microbiological Contaminant Analysis
Analysis is conducted either by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and fluorescence detection of microbiological contaminants or by plating using 3M™ Petrifilm™ and plate counts of microbiological contaminants. Learn more.
Various bundled panel options were developed to target a comprehensive list of organisms, address state compliance rules, and meet guidelines established by the USP2, AHPA3, AHP4, DCC5, or ORELAP.
Inhalable Test Panel – CA Compliance
PCR test method. Reports 6 organisms following California cannabis compliance regulations for inhalable products.
Non-Inhalable Test Panel – CA Compliance
PCR test method. Reports 2 organisms following California cannabis compliance regulations for non-inhalable products.
Comprehensive Microbiological Contaminants Test Panel – National Hemp
PCR and Plating test methods. Reports 18 organisms. Meets national hemp testing standards (participating states).6
Expanded Microbiological Contaminants Test Panel
PCR and Plating test methods. Reports 14 organisms. Expanded panel ideal for stringent product safety and quality testing requirements.
Standard Microbiological Contaminants Test Panel
PCR and Plating test methods. Reports 6 organisms. Covers relevant list of contaminants using advanced PCR and traditional plating methods.
