Sampler / Laboratory Technician

Position Summary:

We are seeking a part-time Sampler / Lab Person to join the team, based out of our Scottsdale, Arizona lab facility. This is a hybrid position, meaning the position is not one with daily tasks inside the Lab area solely. The person we place into this role will be driving and doing shipping and receiving (Intake) mostly, and will be in that position for at least 1 year. There is no real lab experience to be gained in the first year. This position will also be tasked with gathering and transporting samples and relevant documentation safely and securely to the Laboratory for processing. Must have real-world working experience, and be comfortable working with cannabis/hemp products.

Seeking applicants who already reside in the Scottsdale, Arizona region.

This position will require sample pickup and delivery tasks, requiring all applicants selected for an interview to provide a current DMV printout showing a clean driving record of at least the past 6 years.

Preference will be given to those applicants with at least 1-year of previous experience in a delivery route driving position.

Schedule

This will be a part-time non-exempt hourly position. Monday to Friday 9:30am – 2:30pm, with flexibility needed, but no more than 29 hours per week.

Pay Rate:

The hourly pay rate range for this non-exempt position will be $18.00 to $20.00, and will be determined by the hiring manager.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 25 years of age, required for all driving positions.
• A minimum of 1-year previous real world work environment experience.
• Prior experience and ability shown to follow a scheduled delivery route.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Full use of upper and lower extremities to drive a company vehicle for extended periods of time.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

• Using a Company vehicle, safely transports samples to the laboratory as needed.
• Strives to maximize route efficiency.
• Maintains records of samples and transportation data per relevant procedure.
• Intake samples and prepare them for sample testing, including labeling, weighing, photographing, and organizing samples.
• Proper use of equipment such as analytical balances, pipettes, sonicators, syringes, etc.
• Sample homogenization.
• Maintains equipment in proper working order, and maintains a clean work environment.
• Completes all required training in a timely manner, and maintains training on updated policies and procedures.
• Practices safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health and environmental rules and regulations.
• Helps to maintain laboratory inventory, and properly labels and stores chemicals and supplies.
• Organizes and prepares reagents and other supplies for testing needs.
• Follows good documentation practices, data integrity principles, and safety behaviors.
• Promotes a professional company image through exemplary customer relationship skills.
• Performs cleaning procedures of the laboratory as needed or requested by the Lab Supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or as delegated by the Supervisor or Lab Management.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of full-time route driving experience is strongly preferred.
• Follow written and verbal instructions, and be an effective communicator; work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Education:

Two (2) years of college education (preferably in a scientific discipline) OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of previous work experience.
