SC Laboratories uses the latest technology and established methods to provide a comprehensive battery of tests for potency, pesticide screening and microbiological contamination. Offerings for cannabis testing include:

• Medical marijuana potency testing using High Performance Liquid Chromatography equipped with a Diode Array Detector (HPLC/DAD) to determine the concentrations of several of the active cannabinoids in medical marijuana flowers, concentrates, and edible products. Using Gas Chromatography many cannabinoids break down in the high temperatures. Alternatively, Liquid Chromatography tests the sample in its native state giving a more accurate measurement of a greater profile of cannabinoids.
• Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology to identify and quantify pathogenic contamination. Standard plating methods count only live spores. Micotoxins, however, remain in the dead spores as well. Real-Time PCR methods offer a much faster and more accurate test that counts both live and dead spores.
• Pesticide, herbicide, and fungicide residue testing of both medical marijuana and agricultural products in full compliance with EPA, FDA and/or state ELAP guidelines using a combination of Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS).
• Soil chemical and microbiological analysis using a combination of LC/MS, LC/MS/MS, Microscopic, and real time-PCR techniques in accordance with EPA and state agricultural guidelines where applicable.
• Genetic tests using real time PCR to fit clients’ needs. SCL will offer custom genotyping, gene mutation identification, and gene quantification analysis.
• Nitrogen packaging options for producers interested in storing their medicine with little to no degradation in quality.
• Processing and handling of your sample following the most strict standards for environmental testing. All testing is performed by a properly trained and qualified laboratory technician.
